Why this automation is useful#
Google Maps reviews hold raw buyer language. Customers describe complaints, praise, and wishes in their own words. Copying reviews by hand is slow and stops after a few entries.
This automation extracts up to 300 reviews per launch for one place. The CSV combines reviewer name, rating, text, and date. One file supports messaging research, reputation monitoring, and sales preparation.
Sort the CSV by rating to separate promoters from unhappy customers. Sort by date to see how service quality changes over time.
Use cases#
- Mine a competitor's reviews for messaging. Export up to 300 reviews from a competitor's place page. Sort the CSV by rating. Write your cold email and ad copy from the exact phrases unhappy customers use.
- Find businesses that need review management. Export reviews for businesses in your target niche. Filter for low ratings and old review dates. Pitch review generation and reputation management to those businesses.
- Monitor reputation across locations. Run the place URL of each location every week. Compare the rating and review date columns across CSVs. Flag locations with new 1-star reviews for the operations team.
- Prepare sales calls with customer evidence. Export a prospect's reviews before the first call. Quote the complaints of their customers in your pitch. Show how your product fixes the named problem.
- Track your own reputation over time. Export your place reviews every month. Compare average ratings across exports. Respond to new negative reviews before they cost you customers.
- Deliver review mining as a freelancer. Export reviews for a client's top three competitors. Cluster the complaints by theme. Deliver the themes as a positioning report.

FAQ#
Q: How many reviews can I extract per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 150 executions per day. Each launch extracts at most 300 reviews.
Q: Can Google restrict my account for scraping reviews? A: No Google account is connected, so your account is not at risk. High-volume runs from one network connection can hit temporary Google rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between requests. Keep to the default limits.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: Do I need a Google account or a paid subscription? A: No. Google Maps reviews are public data. The automation needs only the public place URL.
Q: Does the automation dedupe reviews? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: The place has 1,000 reviews. Can I export all of them? A: One launch extracts at most 300 reviews. Run several launches to collect more reviews from the same place.
Q: Can I extract reviews from several places in one run? A: No. One run accepts one place URL. Launch the automation once per place.
Troubleshooting#
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
Some fields are empty in the CSV. The source page does not publish every field for every result. The automation returns the fields that the page shows.
The CSV has fewer results than my extract limit. The source stopped returning results for this input. Lower the extract limit or change the input.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
