Why this automation is useful#

Trends move fast. A hashtag that matters in the morning can fade by evening. Manual checks leave no history. This automation saves each trend check to a CSV file with a date.

The location columns make the data practical for targeting. You can filter trends by Country or Country Code. This separates global noise from the markets you serve.

The volume column ranks trends by reach. High-volume hashtags bring reach. Lower-volume niche hashtags often bring better audience fit.

Use cases#

  1. Newsjack a trend while it is rising. A business owner exports trends each morning. The owner picks one trend that matches the niche and posts within the hour. Early posts on rising trends earn placement in the hashtag feed.
  2. Build a trend report for a client. An agency exports trends daily and archives the CSVs. The weekly report shows which hashtags trended in the client's country. The client sees real data instead of screenshots.
  3. Plan a campaign calendar around recurring trends. A social media manager tracks trends for four weeks. Recurring hashtags reveal weekly patterns. The calendar reserves prepared content for those days.
  4. Watch for brand and category terms. A sales team checks the export for the company name and category keywords. When a relevant term trends, the team joins the conversation the same day. Fast replies put the brand in front of a live audience.
  5. Localize content for regional markets. A freelancer manages accounts in three countries. The freelancer filters the export by Country Code. Each market gets posts tied to its own trending topics. The same work takes hours by hand.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your X (Twitter) account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open Twitter Trends Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Run the automation.
  4. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply.
  • Trends reflect the moment of the run. Run the automation at a regular time for comparable data.
  • The trends list depends on the location settings of the connected account.
  • X (Twitter) can change its layout or rate limits at any time. Results can vary between runs.

FAQ#

Q: How many times can I run this per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply.

Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough. No paid subscription is required.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: This automation has no input. Repeated runs on the same day can return the same trends. Clean your CSVs when you merge exports.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Can I get trends for a specific country? A: The export includes Location, Country, and Country Code columns. Filter the CSV by those columns to isolate a market.

Q: Does the export include the tweets behind a trend? A: No. It exports the trend list with volumes and locations. The Search URL column links to the live results for each hashtag.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
