Why this automation is useful#
A LinkedIn school page holds firmographic data that manual research takes time to collect. This automation reads the full page in one run and writes every field to a CSV row.
The export covers identity fields such as name, website, type, and founded year. It also covers the headquarters address and the headcount range. Three growth columns show headcount change over 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years.
Growth data turns a static list into a qualified list. A school with rising headcount invests in programs and tools. Vendors can rank schools by growth and contact the expanding ones first.

- Qualify schools before EdTech outreach. Scrape each school on your list. Compare headcount range and 1-year growth. Contact the growing institutions first.
- Enrich a school list from search results. Export school URLs with LinkedIn School Search Export. Then scrape each URL for the website, HQ city, and specialties. Complete your CRM records.

How to use it#
- Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open LinkedIn School Scraper in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Enter the LinkedIn school page URL. Open the school page on LinkedIn and copy the URL from the address bar.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
One school is processed per run. Run the automation again for the next school. The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Do not browse LinkedIn heavily during the run.
Limits and limitations#
- This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply.
- One school URL is processed per run.
- Growth percentages appear only when LinkedIn provides them for the school.
- Some schools hide parts of their profile. Hidden fields stay empty in the CSV.
- LinkedIn can change its page structure. A run can fail after such a platform change.
FAQ#
Q: How many schools can I scrape per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. One school is processed per run. Your LinkedIn account rate limits still apply.
Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using this automation? A: Yes, if you exceed normal usage limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to moderate run sizes to protect your account.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: Do I need a paid LinkedIn subscription? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. The export also includes the Sales Navigator school URL when it is available.
Q: Does the automation remove duplicates? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: Why are the growth columns empty for some schools? A: LinkedIn shows headcount growth only for some school pages. When LinkedIn does not provide the data, the cells stay empty.
Q: Does this automation export alumni? A: No. Use the LinkedIn Alumni Search Export automation to export alumni profiles of a school.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
