Why this automation is useful#
Comments show who cares about a topic. People who comment on a post reveal interest, pain points, and buying signals. Manual copying of commenters into a spreadsheet takes hours on posts with hundreds of replies.
This automation turns one post URL into a clean prospect or research list. Each row links the comment text to the commenter name, headline, job title, and company. You also get the post reaction counts for context.
The CSV feeds direct outreach, audience research, and content planning. Filter by job title to isolate decision makers. Filter by connection degree to separate your network from new prospects.
Use cases#
- Build a prospect list from a competitor's viral post. Export everyone who commented on a competitor launch post. Message them with a comparison offer. You reach an audience that already showed interest in the category.
- Route hot leads from your own posts to sales. Export commenters from your latest product post. Flag commenters who ask pricing or feature questions. Send each one a direct message within 24 hours while interest is high.
- Mine audience language for ad and content copy. Export comments from influencer posts in your niche. Read the exact words your market uses to describe the problem. Reuse that language in landing pages and ad headlines.
- Report engagement quality to agency clients. Export comments from each client campaign post. Count unique commenters, author replies, and pinned comments. Show the client who engaged, not only how many.
- Find prospects who ask questions in your category. Export comments from posts about your product category. Filter rows where the comment text contains a question. Answer in a direct message and book meetings from warm conversations.
How to use it#
- Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open LinkedIn Comments Scraper in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Paste the full post URL into LinkedIn Post URL.
- Choose a sort order in Sort by Relevance or Date if needed.
- Set the Commenter Extraction Limit. The maximum is 2500 per run.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Do not browse LinkedIn heavily in the same browser during the run.
Limits and limitations#
- TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day for this automation.
- The extraction limit accepts a maximum of 2500 commenters per run.
- The automation reads one post per run. Use one run per post URL.
- Private or restricted posts do not return comments.
- LinkedIn can change page structure at any time. A failed run can mean the page layout changed.
FAQ#
Q: How many posts can I process per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day. Each execution processes one post URL.
Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. You must connect it with the TexAu browser extension.
Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: How many comments can I extract from one post? A: The extraction limit accepts up to 2500 commenters per run. Posts with more comments are cut at that number.
Q: Can I scrape comments from a private post? A: No. The automation only reads posts that your connected account can view.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
