Why this automation is useful#

A long sales thread holds objections, quotes, and next steps. Copying that history by hand is slow and error-prone. This automation exports the full thread in one run.

Each row shows the author ID and the message date. You can reconstruct who said what and when.

Attachment fields include the filename and the download URL. Proposals and contracts stay traceable after the deal closes.

Use cases#

  1. Document a deal before a handoff. Export the thread with the prospect. Attach the CSV to the CRM record. The new rep reads the full history.
  2. Analyze winning conversations. A sales leader exports threads from closed deals. The team studies which answers led to meetings. Templates improve with real data.
  3. Recover a stalled negotiation. Export the thread. Find the last question from the prospect. Answer it in a follow-up message.
  4. Archive client communication. An agency exports the threads at the end of a project. The CSV serves as a record of approvals and decisions.
  5. Prepare for a renewal call. Export the thread with the champion. Review the commitments made earlier in the year. Reference them during the call.
  6. Audit response times. Sort the CSV by message date. Measure the gap between prospect messages and your replies. Shorten the gap on the next deal.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your Sales Navigator account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open Sales Navigator Message Thread Scraper in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the inputs. Paste the thread URL from your Sales Navigator inbox.
  4. Set the extract limit. Maximum 5000 messages per conversation.
  5. Run the automation.
  6. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 100 executions per day for this automation.
  • Maximum 5000 messages per conversation.
  • You need an active Sales Navigator subscription.
  • The automation reads threads in your own Sales Navigator inbox.
  • The export contains the messages visible in the thread at run time.

FAQ#

Q: How many threads can I export per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 100 executions per day for this automation. Each run extracts one thread. Each launch extracts up to 5000 messages.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes. LinkedIn can restrict your account if you exceed limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What subscription do I need? A: You need an active Sales Navigator subscription. The thread URL comes from the Sales Navigator inbox.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Where do I find the thread URL? A: Open the conversation in your Sales Navigator inbox. Copy the full URL from the address bar.

Q: Can I export my whole inbox at once? A: No. This automation extracts one thread per input. Use Sales Navigator Inbox Scraper to export all threads.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
