Why this automation is useful#

An open LinkedIn profile attracts spam invitations from sellers, bots, and off-target profiles. A pending queue full of junk hides real requests from prospects and candidates.

Declining requests one by one in the LinkedIn interface takes time every week. This automation declines the request for a given profile URL. The CSV logs the invitation ID and type for your records.

A clean network keeps your feed relevant. Fewer off-target connections means more prospect activity in your daily scroll.

Use cases#

  1. Clean up after a viral post as a founder. A popular post draws hundreds of off-target requests. Decline the profiles outside your ICP. Accept the rest before they go cold.
  2. Protect a sales rep's feed quality. Decline requests from other sellers and offshore recruiters. A clean network keeps your feed full of prospect activity you can act on.
  3. Moderate managed accounts for an agency. Review each client's pending requests every week. Decline spam and competitor profiles from the client's account. Log every rejection in the CSV for the client report.
  4. Keep a freelancer's network client-focused. Decline requests with no shared context or clear reason. Accept only profiles that match your buyer persona.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open LinkedIn Auto Reject Pending Connection in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the profile URL of the person whose request you want to decline.
  4. Run the automation.
  5. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation works on incoming requests only. If the profile sent no request, there is nothing to decline.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day for this automation.
  • The profile must have a live incoming invitation to your account.
  • Declining removes the invitation. The sender can send a new invitation later.
  • LinkedIn does not notify the sender when you decline a request.
  • The automation uses your active LinkedIn session.

FAQ#

Q: How many requests can I decline per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day for this automation.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed normal activity levels. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What LinkedIn account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough for this automation.

Q: Does the automation dedupe repeated runs? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Does the sender know I declined their request? A: No. LinkedIn does not send a notification when you decline an invitation.

Q: Can I undo a rejection? A: No. Declining removes the invitation from your pending list. The sender must send a new invitation for you to connect.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The action did not appear on the platform. Check the run status in the History section. If the run failed, reconnect the account and run again.

The automation skipped my input. TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. A second run of the same input does not repeat the action.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
