Why this automation is useful#

LinkedIn conversations hold deal context, objections, and commitments. That history stays locked in the inbox unless you copy it out. Manual copy-paste of long threads is slow and drops details.

This automation reads one thread URL and exports the full message history. Each row holds one message with the sender name, headline, profile URL, and date. Messages from both participants are included.

The export feeds CRM records, call preparation, and conversation analysis. Attach the thread to a contact record. Read the exact words a prospect used before you write the next reply.

Use cases#

  1. Export a prospect conversation before a sales call. Review the full thread history before the meeting. Quote the prospect's own words on the call. Preparation shortens discovery and raises close rates.
  2. Log conversations into your CRM. Export threads for active deals. Attach the message history to the contact record. The CRM stays complete without manual copy-paste.
  3. Analyze objections across lost deals. Export threads from deals that stalled. Read the exact objections prospects raised. Rewrite your pitch to answer the top three objections.
  4. Hand off conversations from SDR to account executive. Export the thread when a meeting is booked. The closer reads the full context before the call. No detail gets lost in the handoff.
  5. Archive client conversations for agency records. Export threads as a record of delivered work. Store the CSVs per client and campaign. Resolve disputes with the actual message history.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open the conversation on LinkedIn in your browser.
  3. Copy the thread URL from the browser address bar.
  4. Open LinkedIn Message Thread Scraper in the TexAu Desktop app.
  5. Paste the thread URL into Thread URL. Use the format https://www.linkedin.com/messaging/thread/123456789/.
  6. Run the automation.
  7. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation reads one thread per run. Use one run per thread URL.

FAQ#

Q: How many threads can I scrape per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply. Each run processes one thread URL.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to reasonable volumes to reduce risk.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. You must connect it with the TexAu browser extension.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Where do I find the Thread URL? A: Open the conversation on LinkedIn in your browser. Copy the URL from the address bar. The format is https://www.linkedin.com/messaging/thread/123456789/.

Q: Does it export both sides of the conversation? A: Yes. The export includes messages from you and from the other participant. Each message row carries the sender profile details.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
