Why this automation is useful#
Following a company puts its posts in your feed. This is the fastest way to watch competitors, prospects, and partners without visiting each page.
Following pages by hand is fine for five companies. It does not scale when you track a whole market. This automation follows the page for you and logs the result.
The CSV gives you a record of every page your account follows. Use it to audit your tracking list later.
Use cases#
- Monitor competitors as a business owner. Follow every direct competitor's page. Their launches, hires, and pricing posts appear in your feed. Review the feed once a week.
- Track target accounts as a sales rep. Follow the page of each account in your territory. A funding or hiring post from the account is a reason to reach out.
- Deliver a monitoring setup as an agency. Follow the pages of a client's competitors, partners, and press outlets from the client's account. The client's feed becomes a market radar.
- Watch dream clients as a freelancer. Follow the companies you want to work with. Comment on their posts to get on their radar before you pitch.
How to use it#
- Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open LinkedIn Company Auto Follow in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Enter the company page URL. A Sales Navigator company URL also works.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
Limits and limitations#
- TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day for this automation.
- Each run follows one company page.
- The automation uses your active LinkedIn session.
- LinkedIn does not notify the company when you follow its page.
FAQ#
Q: How many pages can I follow per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day for this automation. Each execution follows one page.
Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed normal activity levels. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What LinkedIn account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough for this automation.
Q: Does the automation dedupe repeated runs? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: Can I follow a company with its Sales Navigator URL? A: Yes. The input accepts both LinkedIn and Sales Navigator company URLs.
Q: Does the company see that I follow it? A: No. LinkedIn does not send a notification to the company. Pages see aggregate follower counts, not a per-follower alert.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The action did not appear on the platform. Check the run status in the History section. If the run failed, reconnect the account and run again.
The automation skipped my input. TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. A second run of the same input does not repeat the action.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
