Why this automation is useful#

Comments on other people's posts put your name in front of their audience. Each comment is a small piece of distribution for your profile.

Posting comments by hand does not scale across a daily target list. This automation posts the comment for you and logs the comment URL and date. The CSV gives you a record of every comment for reporting.

The tag option pulls a specific person into the thread. A tagged comment creates a notification for that person.

Use cases#

  1. Warm up prospects before a connection request. Comment on a prospect's latest post one day before you send an invitation. The prospect then sees your name twice in their notifications. This familiarity raises acceptance rates on cold invitations.
  2. Run an engagement service for agency clients. Keep a list of 20 posts per client that match their ICP. Comment on each post from the client's account. Report the comment URLs in your weekly client export.
  3. Stay visible to dream clients as a freelancer. Comment on every new post from ten target marketing directors. Write about the post content, not generic praise. Specific comments get replies.
  4. Support a product launch as a business owner. Comment on partner and customer posts about your launch. Each comment spreads the announcement into a new network.
  5. Bring a teammate into a conversation. Use the Tag Profile URL input to tag a colleague on a prospect's post. Your teammate gets a notification and can reply in the thread.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open LinkedIn Auto Comment in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the post URL and the comment text. To tag a person, add their profile URL in Tag Profile URL.
  4. Run the automation.
  5. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • The action happens under your name and is visible to others. Review the inputs before you run the automation.
  • TexAu sets a default limit of 10 executions per day for this automation.
  • Each run posts one comment on one post.
  • The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Your account must stay connected in the browser extension.
  • Comments are public and posted under your name. Quality matters because prospects read them.
  • If a run fails, reconnect the account in the extension and run again. LinkedIn layout changes can break a run.

FAQ#

Q: How many comments can I post per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 10 executions per day for this automation. Each execution posts one comment.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account for auto commenting? A: Yes, if you exceed normal activity levels. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What LinkedIn account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough for this automation.

Q: Does the automation dedupe repeated runs? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Can I tag someone I am not connected with? A: Yes. Enter any profile URL in Tag Profile URL. LinkedIn lets you mention profiles outside your network.

Q: Can I comment on a company post? A: Yes. Any public LinkedIn post URL works. Company page posts work too.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The action did not appear on the platform. Check the run status in the History section. If the run failed, reconnect the account and run again.

The automation skipped my input. TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. A second run of the same input does not repeat the action.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
