Author account fields cover professional type, account date, followers count, friends count, listed count, media count, tweets count, and favourites count. Relationship fields show follow, block, mute, and notification states between you and the author. Profile flags cover default profile, NFT avatar, media tagging, pinned tweet URL, custom timelines, retweets enabled, protected status, and DM availability. Subscription fields mark Super Follow eligibility and Super Follow relationships.

This table lists the main outputs. A real run returns more columns, about 59 in total. For example: "Views Count" and "Website URL".

Why this automation is useful#

Threads carry long-form content on the platform. Reading a thread on screen is easy. Recording it for analysis is not. This automation unrolls the thread and saves every tweet to a CSV file.

Each row holds the tweet text, the post date, and reply, quote, and retweet counts. Author profile fields travel with each row. You can study structure and engagement across the whole thread.

Use cases#

  1. Reverse-engineer viral thread formats. Export top threads in your niche. Study hooks, length, and structure in the CSV. Model your next thread on the patterns that earned engagement.
  2. Audit the content library of a client. Agencies can export client threads with engagement counts. Rank threads by replies and retweets. Build the next content plan on the formats that performed.
  3. Archive your launch threads. Founders can export announcement threads after each launch. Keep the CSV with the launch record. Compare engagement across launches.
  4. Personalize outreach at thread level. Sales teams can export a recent thread from a prospect. Reference one specific point in the first message. Specific references lift reply rates.
  5. Build a research swipe file. Export threads from industry voices on one topic. Tag claims and frameworks in the CSV. Cite the file when you write your own content.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your X (Twitter) account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open Twitter Thread Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the URL of a tweet in the thread. Use the format https://twitter.com/username/status/123456789.
  4. Set the extract limit. The maximum is 1000 tweets per launch.
  5. Run the automation.
  6. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 1000 executions per day and 100 executions per hour for this automation.
  • The extract limit caps one launch at 1000 tweets.
  • An active X (Twitter) session is required.
  • A thread from a protected account requires a follow from your connected account.
  • X (Twitter) can change what thread data is available at any time.

FAQ#

Q: How many threads can I export per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 1000 executions per day and 100 executions per hour. Each run extracts one thread.

Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account for exporting threads? A: Yes, if you exceed limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Can I export a thread from a protected account? A: Yes, if your connected account follows that account. Protected content hidden from your account returns no data.

Q: What does the extract limit control? A: The extract limit sets the maximum number of tweets collected in one launch. The maximum is 1000 tweets.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
