Why this automation is useful#

Typing the same update into many channels costs time. This automation sends the message for you and records the result. The CSV shows what went out, where it went, and whether delivery succeeded.

Agencies use it to post client announcements across workspaces. Community managers use it to welcome members or tag them in threads. Each run stays inside a workspace you joined.

Use cases#

  1. Announce a launch across your community channels. Write one launch note. Send it to each channel in your product community. The CSV confirms which channels received the post.
  2. Welcome new members with a tagged greeting. Paste the introductions thread URL. Add the new member user ID in the tag field. The member gets a personal welcome on day one.
  3. Run event reminders for a paid community. Post a reminder the day before and the day of the event. Check the Status column for failures. Resend only the failed rows.
  4. Follow up with a warm prospect by DM. A member asked a buying question in a thread. Paste their profile URL and send a short personal note. Move the reply to a booked call.
  5. Post weekly updates for agency clients. Write the client update once. Send it to each client channel you manage. The delivery log gives your account team a record for the week.
  6. Close the loop on support threads. Paste the support thread URL. Post the resolution and tag the requester. The requester gets a notification with the answer.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your Slack workspace with the TexAu browser extension. Read Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension for the steps.
  2. Open Slack Auto Message in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the inputs. Paste a channel, profile, or thread URL. Write the message text.
  4. If you want to tag a member, add the user ID in the tag field.
  5. Run the automation.
  6. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your connected Slack session. Do not use the same workspace heavily in the browser during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • The action happens under your name and is visible to others. Review the inputs before you run the automation.
  • TexAu sets a default limit of 50 executions per day for this automation.
  • One run sends one message to one target.
  • The automation works only in workspaces you joined and connected.
  • The target channel, profile, or thread must accept your message. Failed deliveries show NO in the Status column.
  • Slack can change its product at any time.

FAQ#

Q: How many messages can I send per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 50 executions per day for this automation. One execution sends one message.

Q: Can Slack restrict my account? A: Yes. Slack can restrict your account if you exceed normal usage. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free Slack account is enough. You must be a member of the workspace you message.

Q: Does the automation dedupe repeated sends? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Can I message a member I have no DM with? A: Yes, if the member accepts DMs in that workspace. Paste the member profile URL as the target.

Q: Can I tag more than one member? A: The tag field takes one user ID per run. Run the automation again to tag another member.

Troubleshooting#

The workspace picker is empty. The Slack workspace is not connected. Connect the workspace with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The message did not appear in the channel. Check the run status in the History section. If the run failed, reconnect the workspace and run again.

The automation skipped my input. TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. A second run of the same input does not repeat the action.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
