Run several automations at once and in the background

Updated 18 October 2026 · 2 min read

TexAu Desktop can run more than one automation at the same time. Two limits control this: one run per connected account, and the concurrent-run limit of your tier.

How many runs can go at the same time#

  • Each connected account runs one automation at a time.
  • Your tier sets the number of runs at the same time on each license key: 1, 3, 6, 12 or unlimited. Each key gets the full limit, so each of your computers can run that many at once. Read Your AppSumo plan.
  • To run more at once, connect more accounts. Accounts on the same platform run independently.

Example: you have 5 LinkedIn accounts and a limit of 3. Three of those accounts run at the same time.

When you reach a limit#

  • If the account is busy, the app shows "An automation is already running for this account." After the first run finishes, start the run again.
  • If you reach the concurrent-run limit of your tier, the app does not start the new run. After another run finishes, start it again.

Background runs#

  • Paused runs: if a run hits a rate limit, you can send it to the background. After the limit resets, the run continues by itself. Runs in the background show under "Scheduled" in the left sidebar.
  • History: a finished background run shows how many rows succeeded and failed.

CAUTION: In TexAu Desktop 1.1.2, a CSV run that continues in the background does not save the results of its rows to the CSV file. To keep every result, keep the run open in the TexAu window until it ends. If the run pauses at a rate limit, wait and click "Resume" in the window. A single-input run that you send to the background keeps its result in History.

Background runs count toward your monthly runtime. When you reach the monthly limit, background runs stop too.

TexAu does not start a new run at a set time. You start each run yourself.

Close or quit the app#

  • Closing the window hides TexAu. It does not quit the app.
  • To quit TexAu, use the tray icon.
  • During a CSV run, keep the window open. On a Mac, closing the window stops a running CSV run. On every computer, do not use "Reload" in the View menu during a run.

Keep the computer awake#

Automations run on your computer, not on TexAu's servers. If the computer sleeps or shuts down, runs stop. Change the sleep settings of your computer before a long run.
