Why this automation is useful#

Polls quantify audience preference in public. The results scroll away in the feed after the poll closes. This automation saves the option labels and vote counts to a CSV file.

Each run captures up to four option labels and their vote counts. You can compare results across polls and over time. The data supports reports, decks, and positioning claims.

Use cases#

  1. Benchmark audience preferences over time. Run a weekly poll for your audience. Export each result. Track how preferences shift across the quarter in one spreadsheet.
  2. Back your positioning with public numbers. Export poll results from industry voices in your market. Quote the demand split in sales decks. Numbers from a public poll support your claim.
  3. Add poll results to client reports. Agencies can export the poll results that matter to a client. Add the counts to the monthly report. The client sees preference data without manual screenshots.
  4. Feed the product roadmap. Product marketers can track polls about feature preferences in their category. Export the results. Bring the numbers to the roadmap discussion.
  5. Validate an offer before you build it. Founders can poll their audience on pricing or features. Export the votes. Build the option the audience picked.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your X (Twitter) account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open Twitter Poll Votes Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the poll post URL. Use the format https://x.com/username/status/123456789.
  4. Run the automation.
  5. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 300 executions per day and 30 executions per hour for this automation.
  • An active X (Twitter) session is required.
  • The export contains aggregate counts only. Individual voter profiles are not part of the output.
  • The post must contain a poll. Posts without a poll return no poll fields.
  • X (Twitter) can change what poll data is available at any time.

FAQ#

Q: How many polls can I export per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 300 executions per day and 30 executions per hour.

Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account for exporting poll results? A: Yes, if you exceed limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Does the export include the profiles of individual voters? A: No. The export contains the option labels and the vote count for each option.

Q: How many poll options does the export support? A: The export supports up to four option labels and four vote counts per poll.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
