Further flags cover Follower, Following, Follow Sent, Custom Timelines, Muting, Notifications ON, and Protected. Remaining flags cover Retweets Enabled, Retweeted, Favorited, Possibly Sensitive, Editable, Edits Left, and Super Follow Eligible. This table lists the main outputs. A real run returns more columns, about 65 in total. For example: "Website URL", "Views Count" and "Location".
Why this automation is useful#
Your home timeline is the feed the algorithm builds for your account. It reflects who you follow and what the platform promotes. Checking it by hand leaves no records. This automation saves the feed to a CSV file.
The export supports social listening without extra tools. Run it every day and you build an archive of what your audience sees. Each run adds author profiles and engagement counts to your records.
Poll data is included. When a tweet contains a poll, the CSV lists the choice labels and the vote counts. This gives direct audience research from your niche.
Use cases#
- Archive what your market sees. A business owner runs the export every morning. The CSV archive shows which topics repeat in the niche feed. Content planning uses real posts instead of guesses.
- Monitor an industry feed for a client. An agency connects an account that follows industry voices. Daily exports become a dated trend log for the client. The weekly report quotes specific posts with URLs and counts.
- Study what the algorithm rewards. A freelance social media manager exports the timeline of a niche account. The manager sorts by Views Count and compares Tweet Type and Media Type. The findings shape the formats pitched to clients.
- Catch buying signals from prospects you follow. A sales team connects an account that follows target founders. The team filters Post Content for "hiring", "looking for", and "any recommendations". Matching rows become same-day outreach tasks.
- Track competitor posts without visiting the platform. A founder connects an account that follows ten competitors. Weekly exports log every competitor post with engagement counts. The team reviews the CSV in the Monday meeting.
- Mine polls for customer research. A marketer filters the export for rows with a Poll Label. The Poll Count columns show how the audience voted. The results feed messaging tests in the next campaign.
How to use it#
- Connect your X (Twitter) account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open Twitter Home Timeline Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run. The timeline content depends on the accounts your connected profile follows.
Limits and limitations#
- TexAu sets a default limit of 4000 executions per day and 2000 executions per hour for this automation.
- The timeline is personal. It reflects the follows and the activity of your connected account.
- The timeline refreshes constantly. Two runs on the same day can return different tweets.
- Duplicates can appear across runs. Clean your CSV archive when you merge files.
- X (Twitter) can change its layout or rate limits at any time. Results can vary between runs.
FAQ#
Q: How many times can I run this per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 4000 executions per day and 2000 executions per hour.
Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough. No paid subscription is required.
Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: This automation has no input. Repeated runs can return overlapping tweets. Clean your CSVs when you merge exports.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: Whose timeline does it export? A: It exports the home timeline of the account connected through the browser extension. It cannot read the timeline of another account.
Q: How many tweets does one run return? A: The number depends on what your timeline contains at run time. There is no fixed row count per launch.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
