Why this automation is useful#

Company identifiers differ between LinkedIn and Sales Navigator. A list scraped from one platform breaks in automations built for the other. This converter resolves one input into every format.

The export includes the Sales Navigator company URL. That URL is the required input for account scraping and account list automations. One conversion run unblocks the rest of your workflow.

The firmographic extras add quick context. Follower count, staff count, and founded year support fast qualification. The employees search page URL leads straight to the people at the company.

Use cases#

  1. Normalize a mixed company list. Agencies receive lists with mixed URL formats from clients. Convert every row in one run. Deliver one clean master file with both URL formats.
  2. Unblock account-level automations. Sales ops teams can convert LinkedIn company URLs to Sales Navigator URLs. Feed the output into Sales Navigator Account Scraper. The full account stack runs without manual URL fixes.
  3. Find the right contact faster. Freelancers can open the employees search page URL from the CSV. The search page lists the staff of the target company. Pick the decision maker and start the conversation.
  4. Run quick company diligence. Business owners can check followers, staff count, and founded year per company. A partner pitch lands better with real numbers. Weak fits drop out early.
  5. Key CRM records on stable IDs. RevOps teams can store the company ID and company URN per record. Names and URLs change, IDs stay stable. Dedupe and matching get reliable.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open LinkedIn Universal Company Converter in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter a LinkedIn company URL, a Sales Navigator company URL, or a company ID.
  4. Run the automation.
  5. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not browse LinkedIn heavily during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 80 executions per day for this automation.
  • You need an active Sales Navigator subscription for the Sales Navigator fields.
  • The automation reads data visible to your account. Private company data is not available.
  • LinkedIn can change its page structure. A run can fail after such a platform change.

FAQ#

Q: How many companies can I convert per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 80 executions per day for this automation. One execution converts one company.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using this automation? A: Yes, if you exceed normal usage limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What subscription do I need? A: You need an active Sales Navigator subscription. The Sales Navigator company fields depend on it.

Q: Which input formats does the automation accept? A: It accepts a LinkedIn company URL, a Sales Navigator company URL, or a company ID.

Q: Does the automation remove duplicates? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: What is the difference between the company URL and the public URL? A: The public URL is the short canonical address of the company page. The other URL fields cover the internal, page, and Sales Navigator formats.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
