Why this automation is useful#

LinkedIn shows post search results one screen at a time. There is no way to export them. This automation builds a dataset of posts with author details and engagement counts in one run.

The CSV includes post text, post URL, likes, comments, and shares. It also includes the author's name, headline, profile URL, and company. This combination supports both content research and lead generation.

Engagement counts show which topics perform. You can sort the CSV by likes or comments and see what the market reacts to. This replaces guessing with data.

Use cases#

  1. Monitor brand mentions at scale. Search your brand or product name. Export matching posts on a schedule. Reply to authors who praise you and answer authors who complain.
  2. Find prospects who talk about a pain point. Search a problem keyword your product solves. Export the posts. Message the authors with a helpful answer and a soft mention of your product.
  3. Build a content plan from real engagement data. Agencies can export top posts in a client's niche. Sort the CSV by likes and comments. Write about the topics that already perform well.
  4. Track competitor announcements. Search a competitor name or product name. Export new posts each week. Share the CSV with the sales team for objection handling.
  5. Create a lead list from post authors. Filter the CSV by profile bio for target job titles. Load the matching profile URLs into your outreach tool. Measure replies per 100 messages sent.
  6. Measure share of voice for a client report. Run the same searches every month for a client and two competitors. Compare result counts and engagement totals. Show the trend in the monthly report.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open LinkedIn Post Search Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter a keyword or a LinkedIn post search URL.
  4. Select the time filter, sort order, and author filter when you need them.
  5. Set the extract limit. The maximum is 2500 posts per search.
  6. Run the automation.
  7. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Do not browse LinkedIn heavily during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply.
  • Maximum 2500 posts per search.
  • Only posts visible to your account are exported. Posts from private profiles are not available.
  • LinkedIn can cap the total results shown for some queries. The export can contain fewer posts than the on-screen estimate.

FAQ#

Q: How many posts can I export per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Each run extracts a maximum of 2500 posts per search. Your LinkedIn account rate limits still apply.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using this automation? A: Yes, if you exceed normal usage limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to moderate run sizes to protect your account.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: Do I need a paid LinkedIn subscription? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. The export also includes the Sales Navigator profile URL when it is available.

Q: Does the automation remove duplicates? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Can I export only my own posts or only network posts? A: Yes. Set the Posted By filter to the option you need before the run.

Q: Why did I get fewer posts than LinkedIn showed? A: LinkedIn can limit the results it serves for a query. Check your extract limit and run the search again with a narrower keyword.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
