Why this automation is useful#
A quote retweet is a public comment with an audience attached. The list of quoters shows exactly who amplified or criticized a post. X (Twitter) shows these one screen at a time with no export option.
The export pairs each quoting profile with the original post data. You see the quoter bio, followers count, and email in bio. You also see how the original post performed.
This turns quote activity into a lead list or a reputation report. You can act on every quote instead of reading them one by one.
Use cases#
- Respond to everyone who quoted your launch post. Export the quoters of your product announcement. Read each quote and reply to questions and critics fast. Fast replies on launch day protect the narrative.
- Find unhappy competitor customers. Sales teams can export quoters of a competitor's post. Filter for negative quotes and profiles with email in bio. Message them with a comparison offer and track reply rate.
- Build a lookalike audience from one viral post. Export everyone who quoted a viral post in your niche. These profiles already engage with the topic. Load the CSV into your outreach tool as a warm list.
- Monitor brand sentiment for an agency client. Run the automation on the client's campaign posts each week. Sort quotes by followers count to find influential voices. Escalate negative quotes from large accounts first.
- Source collaboration partners as a freelancer. Export quoters of posts in your service niche. Filter by followers count and bio keywords. Pitch the mid-size accounts that already promote similar content.
- Track a PR moment. Business owners can export quotes of a press-related post. The quoter location and locale fields show where the story spread. Use the data to plan regional follow-ups.

FAQ#
Q: How many quote exports can I run per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 200 executions per day and 20 executions per hour.
Q: How many quoters can I extract per post? A: The extract limit is capped at 1000 quoters per tweet per launch.
Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account for exporting quotes? A: Yes, if you exceed limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough.
Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: What do the OP fields mean? A: OP means original post. The OP fields describe the post that was quoted and its author.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
