This table lists the main outputs. A real run returns more columns, about 41 in total. For example: "Website URL", "Verified" and "Location".
Why this automation is useful#
The follower list of an account is a ready-made audience map. Copying it by hand is not practical. This automation exports up to 50 profiles per launch with the full profile data attached.
Each row tells you who the person is and how reachable they are. You see the bio, the website, the follower counts, and the DM Open flag. This supports targeting decisions before any outreach.
The three modes answer different questions. "Followers" shows the audience of a competitor. "Following" shows who an account pays attention to. "Followers You Know" shows shared connections for warm introductions.
Use cases#
- Build a lookalike prospect list from one competitor. Export the followers of your closest competitor. Enrich the CSV with an email finder. Load the result into your cold email tool and run a comparison campaign.
- Ask shared followers for introductions. A sales rep exports the "Followers You Know" list of a target account. The list shows people the rep follows who also follow the target. The rep asks the strongest contact for an introduction.
- Source client leads for a freelance service. A freelance designer exports the followers of a large design-tool account. The designer filters the CSV for bios that contain "founder" or "creator". Matching profiles get a short DM pitch.
- Map an influencer's circle for partnership targeting. An agency exports the "Following" list of a niche influencer. The export reveals the brands and the peers the influencer follows. Those accounts become partnership prospects.
- Segment a competitor's audience for a client report. An agency exports the followers of two competing accounts. The team compares Handle overlap and follower counts in a spreadsheet. The client receives an audience-overlap analysis with targeting recommendations.
- Qualify accounts before a follow campaign. A business owner exports the followers of an industry account. The owner removes profiles with Protected set to YES and keeps profiles with DM Open set to YES. The clean list feeds a follow and DM sequence.
How to use it#
- Connect your X (Twitter) account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open Twitter Followers/Following Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Select the extraction mode: Followers, Following, or Followers You Know.
- Enter the Twitter Profile URL. Use the full profile URL, for example https://x.com/username/.
- Set the extract limit. The maximum is 50 profiles per launch.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.
Limits and limitations#
- TexAu sets a default limit of 1600 executions per day and 200 executions per hour for this automation.
- Maximum 50 profiles per launch. Repeat runs on later days to grow larger lists.
- Followers of protected accounts are only visible when your connected account has access.
- The automation uses your active X (Twitter) session. Heavy browser use during the run can interrupt extraction.
- X (Twitter) can change its layout or rate limits at any time. Results can vary between runs.
FAQ#
Q: How many profiles can I export per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 1600 executions per day and 200 executions per hour. Each launch extracts up to 50 profiles.
Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough. No paid subscription is required.
Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: What does "Followers You Know" mean? A: It extracts the followers of the target profile whom your connected account also follows. This list is useful for warm introductions.
Q: How do I export more than 50 profiles? A: The cap is 50 profiles per launch. Run the automation again on another day to grow your list.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
