You also need#
- An internet connection. The app checks your license when it starts and before each run. The app does not work offline.
- Google Chrome on the same computer. You connect your LinkedIn, X and Slack accounts with the TexAu browser extension for Chrome. Read Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
- A computer that stays awake while automations run. Automations run on your computer.
Windows shows "Windows protected your PC"#
Windows can show this warning for an app that it does not recognize yet. If you downloaded the installer from a TexAu link:
- Click "More info".
- Click "Run anyway".
- Follow the installer steps.
Mac#
The Mac app is signed and notarized, so macOS opens it without a security warning.
Run TexAu on a server or a cloud computer#
You can run TexAu Desktop on a cloud computer that has a desktop, for example a Windows VPS or a hosted Mac.
- Install TexAu Desktop on the cloud computer.
- Install Chrome and the TexAu extension on the same computer.
- Add a proxy for your LinkedIn account before you sign in to LinkedIn there.
- Activate the app with one of your license keys.
LinkedIn treats a sign-in from a data center as a new location. It can ask for a security check or restrict the account. Read Add and use a proxy.
One key activates one computer. The cloud computer uses one of your keys.
