Your data and privacy in TexAu Desktop

Updated 18 October 2026 · 2 min read

TexAu Desktop runs automations on your computer. Your logins and your results stay on your computer. The TexAu license server receives only what it needs to check your license.

What stays on your computer#

  • Platform sessions. The browser extension sends your LinkedIn, X or Slack session to the TexAu app on the same computer. The session does not leave your computer. The app stores it encrypted.
  • Results. Each run writes a CSV file to the export folder you choose.
  • Run history. Past runs are in the History section of the app.
  • Proxies. Proxy passwords are stored encrypted on your computer.

TexAu does not receive any of these.

What the TexAu license server receives#

  • The email on your license.
  • A protected form of your license key, and the first five characters of the key. TexAu does not store the full key.
  • A protected form of a random ID that the app creates for your computer.
  • The activation time, your tier limits and the expiry date.
  • The minutes you run each month.
  • The purchase updates that AppSumo sends to TexAu.

At activation, the app also sends the name of your computer. The server does not store it.

If you use the chat in the app, our support chat provider receives your license email and your messages.

Which IP address your runs use#

Runs use your own internet connection. If you assign a proxy to an account or a run, the run uses the proxy. Read Add and use a proxy.

Delete your data#

  • To delete the data on a computer, use "Remove this device" in "Settings". It deletes the connected accounts, the run history and the usage data on that computer. Exported CSV files stay. Read Remove a device or revoke your license.
  • A refund does not delete files on your computer.
