Why this automation is useful#
A manual export of LinkedIn search results means scrolling through pages and copying profiles one at a time. This automation extracts up to 1000 profiles from one search URL into a CSV file.
The CSV contains the name, headline, job title, company, location, and connection degree of each profile. It also contains the profile URL, public profile URL, and Sales Navigator profile URL. You can filter and segment the list in any spreadsheet tool.
A LinkedIn search URL keeps the filters you applied on LinkedIn. The export matches the same audience you saw in the search results.
Use cases#
- Build a cold outreach list from a filtered search. Run a LinkedIn people search with title, industry, and geography filters. Export up to 1000 matching profiles with this automation. Load the CSV into your cold email tool and track your reply rate.
- Source candidates for a recruiting mandate. Search LinkedIn for a role and city, for example "product manager Berlin". Export the results and filter by current company and headline. Message the shortlisted profiles with the role pitch.
- Deliver lead lists as an agency service. Run one export per client segment, for example founders of fintech companies in London. Deliver the CSV as the client deliverable. Each run takes one input and produces one file.
- Find service providers for your own business. Search for a skill, for example "fractional CFO". The Service Provider column marks profiles that offer services. Contact the profiles that match your budget and location.
- Map shared connections before outreach. The export includes the shared connections count and a shared connections search URL for each profile. Prioritize prospects where you have mutual connections. A warm path raises acceptance and reply rates.
- Build an event or webinar invite list. Search for the persona your event serves. Export the list and load it into your invite tool. Measure registrations against the exported list size.
How to use it#
- Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open LinkedIn People Search Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Enter a keyword or paste a LinkedIn people search URL. For precise results, apply filters on LinkedIn first and copy the URL from your browser.
- Set the extract limit. The maximum is 1000 profiles per search URL.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run.
Limits and limitations#
- TexAu sets a default limit of 10 executions per day for this automation.
- Maximum 1000 profiles per search URL per run.
- LinkedIn caps the results it shows for some searches. The CSV contains only the results LinkedIn returns to your account.
- Profiles with restricted visibility show only the data LinkedIn shows to your account.
- The automation requires an active LinkedIn session connected through the TexAu browser extension.
FAQ#
Q: How many exports can I run per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 10 executions per day. Each execution extracts up to 1000 profiles per search URL.
Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What LinkedIn account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. Sales Navigator is not required for this automation.
Q: Does the automation remove duplicates? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: Can I use a keyword instead of a search URL? A: Yes. Enter a keyword such as "John" or paste a full search URL. A URL with filters applied gives more precise results.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
