Why this automation is useful#

Retweets keep your feed active without new content. Manual retweeting across a long list of URLs is slow. This automation processes each URL from your input and logs the result. The CSV gives you a record of every retweet.

Retweets also support relationship building. The author gets a notification when you retweet. That notification puts your profile in front of the author before any outreach.

Use cases#

  1. Amplify customer proof. Collect URLs of posts that praise your product. Retweet each one from the brand account. Your feed then shows real users, not only your own posts.
  2. Client advocacy for agencies. Retweet each client launch post from the agency account. Log every action in the CSV. Attach the log to the monthly client report.
  3. Retweet a prospect before the direct message. Retweet one post from each target account one week before your message. The notification introduces your name early. Send the direct message after the retweet.
  4. Conference coverage. Collect posts from the event hashtag during the conference. Retweet the best ones from your account. Your account stays visible in the event feed.
  5. Curate industry news. Keep a list of URLs to relevant news posts. Retweet three to five per day within the hourly limit. Keep the feed active on days without original posts.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your X (Twitter) account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open Twitter Auto Retweet in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter the Twitter Post URL. Use the full status URL, for example https://twitter.com/username/status/123456789.
  4. Run the automation.
  5. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active session. Do not use the account heavily in the browser during the run. Check the Success column in the CSV for each processed URL.

Limits and limitations#

  • The action happens under your name and is visible to others. Review the inputs before you run the automation.
  • TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day and 5 executions per hour for this automation.
  • A connected X (Twitter) session is required.
  • You cannot retweet posts from protected accounts. X (Twitter) blocks retweets of protected posts.
  • X (Twitter) does not allow a second retweet of the same post.

FAQ#

Q: How many retweets can I publish per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day and 5 executions per hour.

Q: Can X (Twitter) restrict my account for auto retweeting? A: Yes, if you exceed limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free X (Twitter) account is enough. No paid subscription is required.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Can I retweet a post from a protected account? A: No. X (Twitter) blocks retweets of protected posts, even when your account follows the author.

Q: Can I undo a retweet from the automation? A: No. Open the post on X (Twitter) and undo the retweet manually.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The action did not appear on the platform. Check the run status in the History section. If the run failed, reconnect the account and run again.

The automation skipped my input. TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. A second run of the same input does not repeat the action.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
