Why this automation is useful#

Google business listings combine category, summary, and contact data in one place. Manual collection does not scale past a few listings.

This automation extracts up to 80 listings per launch from one search URL. Each row combines identity, contact, and location fields. One file supports lead lists, segmentation, and competitor monitoring.

The Category and Summary columns show how businesses describe themselves. The Claimed column shows whether the owner manages the listing. Both fields help you qualify prospects before outreach.

Use cases#

  1. Build city-level lead lists for local services. Run a search URL per city, for example plumbers or coffee shops. Export 80 listings per launch. Load the phone and website columns into your dialer or cold email tool.
  2. Find unclaimed listings to pitch. Export listings in a client niche. Filter for unclaimed listings or low ratings. Open your pitch with the gaps you found in their Google presence.
  3. Segment a market by category. Export listings for a broad search. Group the CSV by the Category column. Build a separate outreach angle for each segment.
  4. Monitor competitor locations over time. Run the same search URL every month. Compare ratings and claimed status across CSVs. Flag new listings and closed businesses for your strategy team.
  5. Support site selection for a multi-location business. Export your category in candidate cities. Map the latitude and longitude columns. Measure competitor density before you sign a lease.
  6. Sell local-business datasets as a freelancer. Run the client's niche across the cities they name. Merge the CSVs and dedupe by Place ID. Deliver a clean lead file the client can load into a CRM.

How to use it#

  1. Run a search on Google Maps.
  2. Copy the full URL from the address bar.
  3. Open Google My Business Scraper in the TexAu Desktop app.
  4. Enter the Google Maps Search URL.
  5. Pick the city in Search Results City Location. The picker loads city options after you enter the search URL.
  6. Set the extract limit. The maximum is 80 results per launch.
  7. Run the automation.
  8. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation reads public Google Maps data. No account connection is needed.

The city picker is a dynamic dropdown. If the picker shows the wrong city, enter the search URL again and pick the correct city.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 150 executions per day for this automation.
  • Maximum 80 results per launch.
  • The search URL defines the result set. A "near me" URL uses the coordinates encoded in the URL.
  • Google updates listings over time. Repeated runs of the same URL can return different results.
  • Not every listing publishes every field. Some cells can be empty in the CSV.

FAQ#

Q: How many searches can I run per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 150 executions per day. Each launch exports at most 80 results.

Q: Can Google restrict my account for scraping listings? A: No Google account is connected, so your account is not at risk. High-volume runs from one network connection can hit temporary Google rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between requests. Keep to the default limits.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: Do I need a Google account or a paid subscription? A: No. Google business listings are public data. The automation needs only a public search URL.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: What is the Search Results City Location input? A: It is a dropdown that loads city options after you enter the search URL. Pick the city that matches your search area. The selection aligns the results with the correct city.

Q: Can I enter a plain keyword instead of a URL? A: The input expects a Google Maps search URL. Run the search on Google Maps first. Then copy the full URL from the address bar.

Troubleshooting#

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

Some fields are empty in the CSV. The source page does not publish every field for every result. The automation returns the fields that the page shows.

The CSV has fewer results than my extract limit. The source stopped returning results for this input. Lower the extract limit or change the input.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
