Why this automation is useful#
A profile's recent activity tells you if the person is active and what they care about. This automation exports that activity into a CSV. You get post text, dates, and engagement counts for each post.
Manual review means scrolling the activity page post by post. This automation exports up to 1000 recent activity items in one run.
The export also covers reshared posts. When the profile reshares content, the original author and post details appear in the OP columns. You can see what the person amplifies, not only what they write.
Use cases#
- Prepare for a sales call in five minutes. Export a prospect's recent activity before the meeting. Read the last ten posts and the topics they engage with. Open the call with a reference to their own content.
- Qualify leads by activity level. Export recent activity for each lead on your list. Check the post dates. Drop dormant profiles from the sequence and focus on people who post weekly.
- Run a content audit for an agency client. Export the client's recent posts with likes, comments, and shares. Rank the posts by engagement. Base the next content calendar on the formats that performed.
- Benchmark a competitor's executives. Export the recent activity of a competitor's leadership team. Compare engagement counts against your own team's posts. Adopt the topics and formats that win attention in your market.
- Warm up dream clients as a freelancer. Export the activity of five to ten target clients each week. Comment on their newest posts the day they appear. Consistent early comments build familiarity before your pitch.
- Track what your champions share. Export the activity of happy customers. When they reshare your content, the OP columns show your original post. Thank them and log the amplification in your CRM.
How to use it#
- Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
- Open LinkedIn Profile Activity Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
- Paste the full LinkedIn profile URL into the input field. Sample format: https://www.linkedin.com/in/johndoe
- Set the extract limit. The maximum is 1000 recent activity items per launch.
- Run the automation.
- Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.
The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Do not browse LinkedIn heavily in the same browser during the run.
Limits and limitations#
- TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day for this automation.
- The extract limit caps at 1000 recent activity items per launch.
- The automation needs an active LinkedIn session. Connect your account first.
- Private or restricted profiles can return limited or no activity data.
- The activity page shows recent items. Older activity can fall outside what LinkedIn returns.
- LinkedIn can change the activity page layout. A layout change can affect extraction until TexAu updates the automation.
FAQ#
Q: How many profiles can I process per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 40 executions per day. Each execution can extract up to 1000 activity items.
Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account if I use this automation? A: Yes, if you exceed safe usage levels. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What LinkedIn account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. You see the same activity data that your account can see on the profile page.
Q: Does the automation remove duplicates? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do my results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: Whose activity can I export? A: You can export the recent activity of any profile visible to your account. Profiles with strict privacy settings can return limited data.
Q: What do the OP columns mean? A: OP stands for original poster. When the profile reshares a post, the OP columns hold the original author and post details.
Troubleshooting#
The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.
The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
