Why this automation is useful#

The LinkedIn inbox hides warm conversations under new arrivals. Replies go unanswered, and follow-ups get forgotten. There is no native export for the inbox.

This automation exports the thread list to a CSV. Each row holds the participant identity, the last message, the unread count, and the thread link. One run covers up to 1000 threads.

The export turns the inbox into a workable list. Filter for unread threads to build a reply queue. Filter for stale threads to build a follow-up list. Open any conversation directly from the Thread Link column.

Use cases#

  1. Triage your reply backlog. Filter rows where Unread Count is greater than zero. Reply to waiting prospects first. An empty backlog protects deals from going cold.
  2. Build a follow-up list from stale threads. Filter threads where the last message is yours and the date is old. Send a follow-up to restart each conversation. Most deals need more than one touch.
  3. Route threads into full message extraction. Feed the Thread Link column into the LinkedIn Message Thread Scraper. Get the complete history of priority conversations. Build the record without opening each thread manually.
  4. Separate group chats from direct conversations. Filter the Group Chat column. Handle group threads with different rules than one-to-one conversations. Keep personal follow-ups out of group threads.
  5. Audit response habits on agency-managed accounts. Export the inbox and compare Last Message Date with Last Read. Show how fast inbound messages get answers. Set a response-time standard with the client.
  6. Find forgotten leads from old campaigns. Sort by Last Activity Date and read the Last Message column. Reopen threads that ended without a reply. Old conversations convert at low cost because the contact already knows you.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open LinkedIn Inbox Scraper in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Set the Inbox Threads Extraction Limit. The maximum is 1000 per run.
  4. Run the automation.
  5. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation exports thread summaries, not full message histories. The Last Message column holds the most recent message of each thread. Use the Thread Link to open the full conversation.

Limits and limitations#

  • TexAu sets a default limit of 50 executions per day for this automation.
  • The extraction limit accepts a maximum of 1000 threads per run.
  • The export contains thread summaries. It does not contain the full message history of each thread.
  • The automation only reads the inbox of the connected account.
  • The automation uses your active LinkedIn session.

FAQ#

Q: How many times can I run this per day? A: TexAu sets a default limit of 50 executions per day. Each run exports up to 1000 threads.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account? A: Yes, if you exceed the platform limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to the default limits to reduce risk.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: What account do I need? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. You must connect it with the TexAu browser extension.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Does it export full conversations? A: No. The export holds the last message of each thread plus the thread metadata. Use the Thread Link column to open the full conversation.

Q: What is the maximum number of threads per run? A: The extraction limit accepts a maximum of 1000 threads per run. Inboxes with more threads are cut at that number.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
