Why this automation is useful#
Comment sections are lead lists that nobody treats as lead lists. People who ask buying questions under a competitor video are warm prospects.
Manual comment review does not scale past a few dozen comments. This automation exports up to 1000 top-level comments per launch with commenter channel URLs.
The likes count and the reply count show which comments matter to the audience. The total comments count shows how much of the conversation you captured.
Use cases#
- Mine competitor video comments for leads. Export comments from a competitor's product video. Find commenters who ask about pricing, alternatives, or missing features. Visit their channel URLs and reach out where contact details exist.
- Turn comment questions into a content backlog. Export comments from your top three videos. Sort the CSV by likes count. Turn the most-liked questions into your next videos and posts.
- Measure launch sentiment for an agency client. Export comments from the launch video during release week. Tag rows as positive, negative, or question. Report the split to the client with example quotes.
- Find community members worth a collaboration. Sort the export by reply count and likes count. Open the top commenter channels. Invite the strongest ones to a collaboration or an affiliate program.
- Catch support issues before they spread. Export comments from your product tutorials each week. Filter for words like "broken", "error", and "does not work". Route the matches to your support queue.
- Recruit beta testers from your audience. Export comments from a feature announcement video. Shortlist commenters who describe concrete use cases. Message them with beta access.

FAQ#
Q: How many comments can I export per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Each launch returns at most 1000 top-level comments. High-volume runs can still hit YouTube rate limits.
Q: Can YouTube block me for scraping comments? A: No account is connected, so your YouTube account is not at risk. High-volume runs from one network connection can hit temporary YouTube rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between requests.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: Do I need a YouTube account or a paid subscription? A: No. Comments on public videos are public data. No account connection is needed.
Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: Can I get the email addresses of commenters? A: No. The export includes the commenter handle and channel URL. It does not include email addresses.
Q: Can I export replies to comments? A: The automation extracts top-level comments. The Reply Count column tells you which comments have active threads.
Troubleshooting#
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
Some fields are empty in the CSV. YouTube does not publish every field for every video or channel. Private, deleted, or region-locked videos return fewer fields.
The CSV has fewer results than my extract limit. YouTube stopped returning results for this input. Lower the extract limit or change the search input.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
