Stop a running automation safely
You can stop a running automation at any time. Your CSV file stays complete: the app saves each row to the CSV file as soon as that row finishes.
Stop a run#
- Open the run in the TexAu window.
- Click "Pause".
- Wait a moment. The app shows the banner "Run paused".
The banner tells you how many inputs are still waiting.
Then choose what to do#
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| "Resume" | Continues the run from the first input that did not finish. |
| "Discard" | Ends the run. The inputs that did not run are dropped. |
| "Export CSV" | Saves a copy of the results so far to a place you choose. |
What is in your CSV file#
- Every row that finished before you clicked "Pause" is in the CSV file in your export folder.
- A row that was still running when you clicked "Pause" is not written. It waits, and runs again when you click "Resume".
- "Discard" does not delete the CSV file. The finished rows stay in your export folder.
Avoid problems#
- Use "Pause" to stop a run. Do not quit the app or turn off the computer during a run.
- Do not use "Reload" in the View menu during a run.
- On a Mac, closing the window stops a running CSV run. Keep the window open. Read Run several automations at once and in the background.
FAQs#
Does a paused run hold my account? No. While a run is paused, the account is free, so another automation can use it.
Will "Resume" run the finished rows again? No. It starts with the first input that did not finish.
Does the time before I clicked "Pause" count toward my runtime? Yes. Runtime counts the time that automations spend running. Read Your AppSumo plan.
