Why this automation is useful#

LinkedIn school search has no export option. This automation collects every school that matches a keyword or a filtered search and writes the list to a CSV.

The CSV includes the school name, tagline, location, and LinkedIn school page URL. The school URL is the key field. It feeds directly into alumni research and detailed school scraping.

Education is a large and fragmented market. A clean list of schools with locations and URLs removes hours of manual research. Agencies and vendors can start outreach the same day.

Use cases#

  1. Build a partner list for an EdTech product. Export schools that match a subject keyword. Load the CSV into your CRM. Contact each school with a partnership pitch.
  2. Create a recruiting target list. Staffing agencies can export schools that teach a subject their clients hire for. Contact career offices about graduate hiring partnerships.
  3. Feed school URLs into alumni research. Export schools with this automation. Then run alumni searches on each school URL to find prospects with a shared education background.
  4. Map the market for an education client. Agencies can export schools per region or subject. Count schools per area in a spreadsheet. Use the counts in a go-to-market plan.
  5. Find guest speaking opportunities. Freelancers can export schools that teach their subject. Pitch workshops or guest lectures to program leads at each school.

How to use it#

  1. Connect your LinkedIn account with the TexAu browser extension.
  2. Open LinkedIn School Search Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
  3. Enter a keyword or a LinkedIn school search URL. To use filters, run the search on LinkedIn and copy the URL from the address bar.
  4. Set the extract limit. The maximum is 1000 schools per search.
  5. Run the automation.
  6. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation uses your active LinkedIn session. Do not browse LinkedIn heavily during the run.

Limits and limitations#

  • This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply.
  • Maximum 1000 schools per search.
  • The automation reads data visible to your account. Schools with restricted pages can show fewer fields.
  • LinkedIn can change its page structure. A run can fail after such a platform change.

FAQ#

Q: How many schools can I export per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Each run extracts a maximum of 1000 schools per search. Your LinkedIn account rate limits still apply.

Q: Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using this automation? A: Yes, if you exceed normal usage limits. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep to moderate run sizes to protect your account.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: Do I need a paid LinkedIn subscription? A: A free LinkedIn account is enough. The export also includes the Sales Navigator school URL when it is available.

Q: Does the automation remove duplicates? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: What is the difference between this automation and LinkedIn School Scraper? A: This automation exports a list of many schools from a search. LinkedIn School Scraper reads one school page in full detail.

Q: Can I export the alumni of a school with this automation? A: No. Use the LinkedIn Alumni Search Export automation with a school URL to export alumni profiles.

Troubleshooting#

The automation asks me to connect the account again. The platform session expired. Reconnect the account with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

The CSV has fewer results than expected. The platform shows less data to your account than the total count suggests. Private or restricted profiles do not appear. This is normal platform behavior.

The automation stops before it reaches my extract limit. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
