Why this automation is useful#

YouTube search is the fastest map of what a niche publishes and what the audience watches. Copying results by hand stops at the first page.

This automation exports up to 500 videos per launch. The export combines video fields and channel fields in one row, so one file supports topic research and channel research.

The Related Keywords column shows the terms YouTube associates with your search. The Results Count shows the estimated size of the result set.

Use cases#

  1. Build a content calendar from proven topics. Search your main keyword and export 500 results. Sort the CSV by views count. Produce the formats that dominate the top rows.
  2. Track who covers your competitors. Search each competitor brand name every month. Export the review and comparison videos. Add new channels to your outreach or monitoring list.
  3. Prospect influencers at niche scale. Search three to five niche terms. Export the results and dedupe by channel ID. Keep verified channels and load their URLs into your outreach tool.
  4. Find rising videos before they peak. Apply the upload date filter on YouTube and copy the search URL. Export the results. Contact the channels behind the fastest-rising videos first.
  5. Research a client market as an agency. Search the client's core terms and export the top results. Cluster the titles by topic. Present the clusters and view counts in your strategy deck.
  6. Source partnership ideas before a launch. Search your product category plus "review" or "vs". Export the videos. Pitch the creators with an early-access offer before your launch date.

How to use it#

  1. Run a search on youtube.com. Apply filters, for example upload date or duration.
  2. Copy the full URL from the address bar.
  3. Open YouTube Search Export in the TexAu Desktop app.
  4. Enter the search URL. Sample value: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=AI.
  5. Set the extract limit. The maximum is 500 videos per launch.
  6. Run the automation.
  7. Open the CSV in your export folder when the run ends.

The automation reads public YouTube data. No account connection is needed.

Limits and limitations#

  • This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply.
  • Maximum 500 videos per launch.
  • The Results Count is the estimate YouTube reports. The CSV can contain fewer rows than the estimate.
  • Search results depend on the URL you enter. Filters, region, and time change the result set.

FAQ#

Q: How many search results can I export per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Each launch returns at most 500 videos. High-volume runs can still hit YouTube rate limits.

Q: Can YouTube block me for exporting search results? A: No account is connected, so your YouTube account is not at risk. High-volume runs from one network connection can hit temporary YouTube rate limits. TexAu adds random delays between requests.

Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.

Q: Do I need a YouTube account or a paid subscription? A: No. YouTube search results are public data. No account connection is needed.

Q: Does the automation dedupe results? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.

Q: Where do the results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.

Q: Why does the CSV show fewer rows than the Results Count? A: The Results Count is the estimate YouTube reports for the search. The estimate is often larger than the results YouTube actually returns.

Q: Can I use a filtered search URL? A: Yes. Apply the filters on youtube.com first. Then copy the full URL from the address bar.

Troubleshooting#

The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.

Some fields are empty in the CSV. YouTube does not publish every field for every video or channel. Private, deleted, or region-locked videos return fewer fields.

The CSV has fewer results than my extract limit. YouTube stopped returning results for this input. Lower the extract limit or change the search input.

The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
