Why this automation is useful#
Long threads hold decisions, answers, and objections. Reading them in Slack means endless scrolling. This automation writes the full thread to a CSV.
Reaction and reply counts show which messages mattered. Author names let you follow up with the right person.
The thread must sit in a channel your account can access.
Use cases#
- Turn a support thread into a help article. Export the thread where your team solved a hard issue. The CSV gives the question and each answer in order. Your docs team writes the article from real dialogue.
- Capture a customer interview. Export a feedback thread with a power user. Quote exact feature requests in your roadmap review. Nothing gets lost in scroll-back.
- Harvest testimonials for community-led growth. Export the thread where members praised your product. Ask each author for permission. Add approved quotes to your landing page.
- Sales play: read a full objection thread. A prospect debated your tool in a community thread. Export every reply. Your sales team answers each objection on the follow-up call.
- Agency play: archive decisions for a client. Export decision threads from the client workspace. File the CSV with the project records. Disputes about who said what end fast.
How to use it#

FAQ#
Q: How many threads can I export per day? A: This automation has no built-in execution limit. Your account rate limits still apply. One run covers one thread.
Q: Can Slack restrict my account? A: Yes. Slack can restrict your account if you exceed normal usage. TexAu adds random delays between actions. Keep volumes moderate.
Q: Do I need a proxy? A: A proxy is not required for one account. Use one proxy per account when you run many accounts.
Q: What account do I need? A: A free Slack account is enough. You must be a member of the workspace.
Q: Does the automation dedupe messages? A: TexAu dedupes repeated runs of the same input. Keep your CSVs clean by not re-running the same input.
Q: Where do results go? A: Results save as a CSV in your export folder. You can also find past runs in the History section of the app.
Q: How do I get the thread URL? A: Open the thread in Slack. Copy the link from the message options menu. Paste it in the thread field.
Q: Does the export include reactions? A: Yes. Each message row carries Reaction Type and Reactions Count.
Troubleshooting#
The workspace picker is empty. The Slack workspace is not connected. Connect the workspace with the TexAu browser extension. See Connect accounts with the TexAu browser extension.
The run fails with an invalid URL error. Copy the URL exactly as the Inputs table shows. The automation checks the URL format before it runs.
The CSV has fewer results than expected. Your Slack plan controls how much history a search returns. Free workspaces show a limited message history. This is normal Slack behavior.
The automation stops before the run completes. You reached a rate limit window. Wait for the window to reset, then run the automation again. See Manage rate limits.
The same run fails several times. Note the exact error message from the app. Contact TexAu support and include this message and the automation name.
